We are working on behalf of North Carolina's coast, and those who love it, by seeking to encourage government action and funding, educate and advocate for effective Federal and State policy, and facilitate environmentally sound scientific and engineering solutions for our threatened beaches, inlets and waterways.

Our coastal resources are under attack by Federal policies that have abandoned our inlets, beaches, and waterways. Recent organizational changes are a positive step in reducing duplication of efforts of coastal interest groups and in strengthening the influence of NCBIWA. Our challenge to represent the entire coast has been expanded to cover all sand management issues, our standing as a resource for our elected officials has been elevated, and our mission to speak as the one effective voice for NC coastal issues has grown into a roar that cannot be ignored.
