Initiatives
of the North Carolina
Beach
and Shore Preservation Association
NCSBPA exists to encourage and develop public and governmental awareness of the need for preservation of North
Carolina shores and beaches; to coordinate and promote public and private
efforts to restore and preserve North Carolina's shores and beaches;
to aid in informing and otherwise educating the public and various governmental
authorities as to the environmental, economic and social impact and
importance of North Carolina's shore and beach resources; and to work
in unison with the other state and national associations toward the
common goal of preserving and restoring the valued shores and beaches
of the United States of America.
The Association has Three Major Initiatives:
An education initiative
with a goal to make North Carolina citizens aware of the recreational,
economic, and environmental value of the shores and beaches in our state
and the effective methods now available to preserve them for future
generations.
A North Carolina legislative and
executive advocacy initiative with a goal to help legislators and state
officials understand the recreational, economic and environmental value
of the shores and beaches so that they might support legislation designed
to protect these assets.
A coalition-building initiative
with a goal to identify and work with the groups in North Carolina which
are currently involved in beach preservation activities
