North Carolina General Assembly Session 2001 House Bill H1

"...AN ACT TO ACKNOWLEDGE STATE POLICY THAT BEACH PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION ARE IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND THAT WHERE ECONOMICALLY AND ENVIRONMENTALLY JUSTIFIED BEACH PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION CONSTITUTE A PUBLIC PURPOSE, TO ESTABLISH THE NORTH CAROLINA BEACH PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION COMMISSION, TO ESTABLISH THE BEACH PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION FUND, AND TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS TO THE BEACH PRESERVATION AND RESTORATION FUN

NCSBPA exists to encourage and develop public and governmental awareness of the need for preservation of North Carolina shores and beaches; to coordinate and promote public and private efforts to restore and preserve North Carolina's shores and beaches; to aid in informing and otherwise educating the public and various governmental authorities as to the environmental, economic and social impact and importance of North Carolina's shore and beach resources; and to work in unison with the other state and national associations toward the common goal of preserving and restoring the valued shores and beaches of the United States of America.
